Robert A. Giffing

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Robert A. "Bob" Giffing, 82, of Peach Bottom, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. Born in Havre De Grace, MD, he was the son of the late W. Reed and Edna W. (Gentry) Giffing. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Young) Giffing for 58 years.
Bob was a 1961 graduate of Solanco High School. He served in the U.S. Marines during Vietnam War. Afterward, he went on to work as a lab technician for Armstrong World Industries, retiring after 20 years. Bob served as the Fulton Twp. Constable for over 40 years and for a short period as a part-time police officer in Quarryville Borough. He was a man with a lot of energy and liked to stay busy. He chose to re-enter the workforce and joined the custodial/maintenance dept. at the Solanco School District, retiring in 2016. Bob was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed boating, riding motorcycle, camping, scuba diving, beach trips and spending time with his family and friends. Bob had a heart for volunteerism; he was an active member of the Wakefield Lions Club and a former EMT with Wakefield Ambulance Assoc.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Ryan, husband of Stahsha Giffing; grandchildren, Alaina and Robbie Giffing; and siblings, Dale Giffing and Brenda Liggins. He was preceded in death by a son, Travis in 2018 and a sister, Joyce Koecke.
A Memorial Service will take place at Little Britain Presbyterian Church, 255 Little Britain Church Rd, Peach Bottom, PA on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet friends at the church from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be private.
