Robert L Goins, 80, of Ellerbe, known for his funny and kind nature, passed away on May 17, 2024, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. He was surrounded by love and warmth as he peacefully went home.
Born on March 12, 1944, Robert led a life filled with remarkable achievements. He was the proud owner and operator of Goins Truck Brokers, but his greatest accomplishment in life was his family, a testament to his hard work and dedication.
Robert's warm personality and servant’s heart touched the lives of everyone he met. He had a way of making people feel at ease with his humor and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. He served as a deacon at New Hope Baptist Church.
In his journey through life, Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Elmer Goins and Rosa Culler Goins, along with his sisters Bet Kiger and Ruby Carpenter, and brothers Virgil Goins and Rev. Otis Goins. Their memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved Robert.
Robert leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Juanita (Nita) Millward Goins, children Patty Frick (J.T.), Doug Goins (Amy), Charlie Wallace, Susie Lindsey (Andrew), along with grandchildren Karen Everett (J.C.), Jessica Goins, Jake Goins, Brair Goins, Skylar Goins, Ophelia Lindsey, Dillon Barbour, Caylie Barbour, and 9 great-grandchildren: Summer. Sam, Ivey, Rider, Kanyon, Jace, Judah, Delaney and Sawn, who will always carry forward his love in their hearts. Additionally, Robert is survived by his sister Hester Dillon.
A visitation in honor of Robert L Goins will take place on May 21st from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM followed by a Funeral Service at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe starting at 3:00 PM with Rev. Tim Hawks officiating.
Interment will follow the service at Ellerbe Cemetery.
Though Robert may have departed this world physically, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. His memory will be cherished forever as a beacon of light and love for all who were touched by his presence. Rest in peace, dear Robert. Your legacy of laughter and love will never be forgotten.
