Robert Gollnick Obituary
A funeral service will take place Wednesday 11 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Wiltwyck Rural Cemetery.
Robert Gollnick, 84, of Kingston died Wednesday March 18, 2026 at Golden Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born May 25, 1941 in Kingston, a son of the late Rev. Frank and Alice (Knudsen) Gollnick.
A devoted public servant, Mr. Gollnick was employed as a fireman for the City of Kingston Fire Department and was the former president of the New York State Firefighters Association. He also served as the former Deputy Commissioner of the New York State Labor Department under Governor Mario Cuomo. Active in politics, he worked on the reelection campaigns for both Hillary Clinton and Charles Schumer. Locally in Kingston, he was the former head of the Kingston Democratic Committee.
Surviving is his wife Shirley J. Gollnick, children Karen J. Gollnick and her partner James J. Bouck, Robert Gollnick and his wife Piyanut, Joseph Gollnick and his wife Ginger. A brother Richard Gollnick also survives.
