Robert L. "Bob" Goode

Robert "Bob" L. Goode, 71, of Noblesville, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 after 16 years of battling Multiple Myeloma; a survival time that was unheard of when first diagnosed. He was born on September 12, 1954. He leaves behind a legacy of service in the healthcare industry, starting off at a young age as an X-ray technician. He was in the right time and place to train as an ultrasound technician when the technology was new and first available to hospitals. He was one of the first in Indiana to be certified as an ultrasound technician by the American Society of Ultrasound Technical Specialists. Through a lifetime committed to ongoing education and constant learning, he would later obtain a real estate brokers' license and an MBA. He went on to be a business manager of doctors' practices for the majority of his long career. And for the last decade he has served in a leadership role in medical billing for IU Health.

He was an avid genealogist and armchair historian, especially of local Indiana history. He also served as a caretaker for the old and mostly forgotten cemeteries of central Indiana where countless Hoosier ancestors are laid in rest. While he has left us and others reams of information on genealogy, local history and local graveyards, forging a path for all others who would take up these pursuits, we have a tragic loss in the mind that could hold together generation upon generation and decade upon decade into one cohesive narrative of time and place.

Husband, father, son and sibling to many, he was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Robert and Marjorie Goode. Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cynthia, his son Jeremy (Beth), and daughter Courtney Short (Chris). He is also survived by his mother Patricia (Schuyler) Golden and many siblings – On his mother's side; Sue Haggerty, Greg Golden (Marla), Cheryl Fitzpatrick (John), Lori Block, Jeff Golden (Angela). And on his father's side; Erica Martinez-Atabei (Amaris), Rick L. Edgeman (Julie), Valerie Gibson, Gloria Cox, Shawn Gibson (brother, deceased) Michael Gibson, Robert L Gibson, Pamela Gibson Collson (Christopher).

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 1:30 P.M. at the Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home, 5342 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, 46219 with visitation taking place at the funeral home on Friday, January 16 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
