Robert Bruce Goodwin, Sr., 66, died on Friday, April 14, 2023 at his home in West St. Paul, MN
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Rice Lake Community Center in Rice Lake, Minnesota. A wake will begin the evening prior on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the Community Center. Interment will be held at Pine Bend Cemetery in Lengby, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Robert Bruce Goodwin Sr also known as Shine was born on January 25 1957 and passed peacefully at his home on April 14 2023. He was born to Hazel and Stanley Goodwin.
He grew up in Ebro, and also went to school there until 6th grade before going into the Navy. He was medically discharged in the 70's. Shine was a Chemical Dependency counselor in White Earth for 17 years and an EMT for many years. Shine had many hobbies that included baking, craftsmanship, carving, and always looking to make a good bargain. Mr. Haneys partner in Sales. He loved making memories with his family doing sugarbushing, ricing, going to pow-wows, playing poker games, card games, and bowling on the family team. He was a man of many jokes, always making people laugh. Shine gave the best hugs and advice. He was a teacher of many things, and he always brought the light to any situation and never judged anyone. He's had his ups and downs in life and overcame many challenges but his family was the most important thing to him. Especially his grand babies and great grand babies. He is preceded in death by his parents Hazel and Stanley Goodwin. Sisters Shelby Danks, Joyce Johannesson. Brother Randy Goodwin and nephews. He is survived by his siblings Yvonne Goodwin, Cheryl ( Dale) Erickson, Dalton Goodwin, Leonard(Val) Goodwin, Cindy Goodwin. His children Angela Goodwin, Brittany (Ruben) Tovar, Jesse Olsen, Robert Jr (Jessenia) Goodwin, Jordan Goodwin, Cody ( Jessica) Goodwin, Sheyenne (Cj) Goodwin, Kelly ( Stephanie) Goodwin, Conner Olsen, Amber Goodwin. And many grandbabies and his great grandbabies.
