Our beloved Robert A. Goulette passed away suddenly with loved ones by his side on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. He was a wonderful husband, dad, papa, brother and uncle. The kindest person: he would give you the shirt off his back (literally). You could call Robert anytime and he would be there to help, no questions asked. He was an avid Michigan football fan and loved Elvis Presley. Robert also loved going to the Indianapolis 500 with his lifelong best friend Manuel Dosal. They talked daily no matter what and had lunch once a month at Krzysiak House Restaurant. Robert was a true race fan and enjoyed going to NASCAR races at Michigan International Speedway and traveling the circuit from state to state with his gorgeous long-time loving wife Margaret for over 40 years. Robert retired from Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry after 25 years of dedicated employment and he also worked as a pyrotechnician for Zambelli Fireworks for many years. One of his favorite spots to shoot his shows was in Alpena with all his helpers and family, then stay for camping.
Roberts' biggest passion was spending time with his grandkids and so enjoyed attending their football, soccer, baseball and basketball games, all their school events. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth (Gemmil) Goulette; his children and grandchildren: daughter, Amy Lynn Gemmil and her children DeVawn Lee Wilkins, Destinee Elizabeth Gemmil, son, Jeremy Keith (Lindsey) Gemmil and their children Moniqua, Jayden, Jaylah and Jayce, son, Robert (Leslie) Goulette, Jr. and their children Bobby III, David, Glenn (Michelle) Goulette, and daughter, Sherrie Lemmer and her son Johnny, and also Robert's granddaughters Natalie Thompson and Brittany Sutton. He is also survived by his sister, Sharoyn (Leonard) Cole; his brother, Albert "Bud" Goulette; a brother-in-law, Ed (Bridgette) Gemmil; a sister-in-law, Denise Shepard; and many more grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lillian (Sharoyn) Goulette; a sister, Dianne Boynton; his mother-in-law, Arlene (Kerr) Gemmil; and a sister-in-law, Toni Timreck. Robert will be truly missed by all.
A special heartfelt thank you to granddaughter Destinee for being his loving caregiver throughout his final moments. He loved you very much. Also, a special thank you to our nephew James for always helping Uncle Bobby, he greatly appreciated you, and to all the nurses at McLaren Bay Region who helped care for Robert.
