Robert A. Green

Robert Alexander Green, age 83, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024, in Muskegon, MI. Bob was born on June 14, 1941, to Frank and Rosetta (Hill) Green in White Cloud, MI. He graduated from Reeths-Puffer High School in 1959 and went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army. On June 24, 2000, he married the former Wanda Williams, and the two of them spent many wonderful years together. Bob worked for over 30 years as a building inspector for Muskegon Charter Township. He also volunteered his time serving on the Reeths-Puffer school board and neighborhood association for many years, and also on the planning committee for Muskegon Charter Township. In his younger years he loved playing baseball and basketball, and more recently he enjoyed watching Detroit Tigers Baseball and University of Michigan Football. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved the Lord and greatly enjoyed spending time with his family.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Wanda Green; four children: Tony Barnes, Cynthia (Robert) Green-Young, Kimberly Willis, and Kenny Green; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Ella Charles; the mother of his children, Maggie B. Green; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rosetta Green; one son, Greg Barnes; and four siblings: Leonard Green, Frank Green, Harry Green, and Evelyn Green.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held for Robert at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Shiloh Tabernacle Church, 460 E Tyler Rd, Muskegon, MI 49445. VISITATION will be taking place from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday, September 6, 2024, at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI, 49442, as well as an hour prior to the service on Saturday. BURIAL AND MILITARY HONORS will be taking place at 11:30 AM on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI 49012. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
