Robert "Bob" Lee Greenwell of
Mustang, Oklahoma, passed peacefully on November 22, 2025. Born on May 25, 1940, to Wiley T. and Doris M. Greenwell in Wichita, Kansas, he was an adored husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend, and neighbor whose steady presence and generous spirit touched everyone who knew him. Cherished for his kindness, loving spirit, and strong work ethic, he built a life defined by his devotion to family and stoic strength.
Bob spent his childhood in Kansas where he cherished his summers with his grandparents in Lawrence and made fond memories with his uncles Buster and Bobby in Tonganoxie, Kansas. His family later moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he graduated from U.S. Grant High School, class of 1959.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army where his journeys took him to Germany during the post-World War II reconstruction of Berlin. After his service, Bob met the love of his life, Joyce Lee Gladieux, and embraced her three young daughters-Robin, Kelley, and Jaime. Together they had daughter Dianna Gayle and son Robert "Bobby" Jr. He and his children were lifelong fans of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. They later moved to
Mustang, Oklahoma and always enjoyed going back to Kansas City for visits.
He continued to serve his country by joining the Air Force Reserves, retiring as a Master Sergeant E-8 after 28 years of combined service.
As a passionate collector, he cherished his stamp and coin collections. In his free time, he often enjoyed spending time with loved ones, golfing, bowling, traveling, gardening, attending monthly breakfasts with his high school reunion class, waving to passing neighbors, and watching Jeopardy. He was an active volunteer for the Special Olympics for many years as well as serving with the Friends of the Mustang Library. He supported a multitude of organizations including the Shriner's Hospital, ASPCA, and the Boys Ranch.
In retirement, Bob and Joyce formed a loving bond with their dog "Blessed Little Buster" and cat Cleocatra. After Joyce passed, Bob welcomed Miss Kitty, who surprised him with six kittens-filling his home with furry friends. The loss of his wife deepened an indestructible bond with his daughter Dianna-a relationship few could mirror.
Bob is survived by his children Dianna and husband Buddy, Bobby and partner Robert; grandchildren Garret and wife Brittany, Haley and Zack, Hayden, Jessica, Nicholas and wife Dory, and Michael; great-grandchildren Kinley, Braidan, Norah, Ruby, Landyn, and Kayden; siblings, Suzanne, David and wife Pam, Donald and wife Iris, and Glen and wife Kathy; as well numerous nephews and nieces.
