Robert T Grier

Robert T Grier of Fontana, California passed away peacefully on Nov 2nd 2025 after a life shared with faith, love and strength in God at the age of 87 years young at Kaiser Hospital Fontana.
Robert Grier was born Sept 7, 1938 in East Liverpool, Ohio to Genevieve Fontone and Lawrence Grier. He was the youngest of six children: Bill Grier, Eddie Grier, Dick Grier and his surviving sisters Jeanne Wright, Ruby Fetty and sister-in-law Sue Hoak all of Ohio.
Robert married his beautiful bride Janet in Sept 1958 and had been inseparable for their beautiful journey in life. Robert and Janet have three children Donna Grier-Couts, Cheryl Mejia, and their son Robert Earl. They also have three grandchildren: Mark Paul Lowers Jr, Michaela Mejia, and Ruby Mejia they also have four great grandchildren Madison Lowers, Octavia Morales-Mejia, Isabella Schodt and Asher Schodt.
Robert and Janet moved their family from Ohio to Fontana in 1966 where he immediately took a job at Kaiser Steel until the mill closed in 1982. Then he worked at California Steel until he retired. He received his BS at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
Robert was in many bowling leagues over the years, Robert bowled until his health kept him from doing so. Robert absolutely loved restoring and showing their classic cars, 1968 ford truck, 1965 Ford Mustang and their 1969 Z-28 Camaro receiving countless awards for their amazing vehicles. Robert and his family also enjoyed several cross-country trips to Ohio, Florida, and western state RV trips.
Robert and Janet have always been dedicated to God. In 1966 they joined the 1st Presbyterian Church of Fontana, this is where Robert became an ordained Elder. They stayed at the Fontana Church until closed and then they transferred to Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ontario, CA.
Celebration of life will be held: Nov 23, 2025, at Westminster Presbyterian Church 720 N Sultana Ave Ontario, CA 91764
Service starts at 12:30pm and immediately follows with a reception with light luncheon and everyone is invited.
