Robert "Papa" Gross

Hemlock, NY – On October 8, 2025 at age 75. He is predeceased by his parents, William Gross, Sr. and Dora Gross; brothers and sisters. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Beverly; daughters, Jeanette (Daniel) Northrop, Tina (Tom) Warters, Nancy (Marc) Monette, Anna (Catalino) Sampel and Jacqueline (Scott) Patanella; grandchildren, Malissa, Stephanie, Kenneth, Sarah, Lisa, Dallas, David, Christopher, Brandon, Heather, Samantha, Roberta, William, Timothy, Cara, Erica and Erin; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

When Robert wasn't rolling around on the floor with a grandchild or a great-grandchild (his all-time favorite pastime), you could find him at the local homeless shelters and Teen Challenge home for wayward kids donating food, money, and his time. Robert was a Vietnam Veteran and a recipient of The Purple Heart. Never will you find a more dedicated Marine and lifelong advocate for The Wounded Warrior Project. Robert's final resting place will be in the Arlington National Cemetery in the near future.

Family and friends may call at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, 3325 Winton Road S., on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, where his Funeral Service will follow in the Interfaith Chapel at 6:00 PM. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery in the future. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to Wounded Warrior Project in Robert's memory.
