BASILE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Robert Ray Guillory, Sr. announces his passing on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at his home in Duralde with family by his side at the age of 80. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Basile. Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery with Pastor Chauncey Davis, officiating.
Robert Ray Guillory, Sr. was born on November 2, 1944, to Hillary and Hattie Guillory in the small town of Basile, Louisiana. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching football.
He will be missed and loved dearly by all who knew him, especially his step children, Jeff Fontenot and wife, Jelessica of Elton, Stafford Fontenot and wife, Jessica of Basile, Lorraine Fontenot and husband, Lee of Basile, Wilma LaFleur of Iota, Hycent Caldwell and husband, Charles of Basile, Thelma Spell and husband, Roger of Basile, and Crystal Fontenot of Basile; daughter in law, Melissa Guillory of Moss Bluff; many grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; as well as his canine companion, Boo Boo; and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Fontenot Guillory; sons, Robert Guillory, Jr. and Jimmy McCoy; sister, Rena M. Guillory; niece, Rita Geiger; and stepdaughter, Cheryl Price.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Basile on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 8:00 am until time of services.
