Robert Orville Hanson, 95, of Rewey died Monday, August 22, 2022, at Schmitt Woodland Hills. Bob was born on April 5, 1927, the son of Oscar and Olga (Hagenstone) Hanson in rural Blue River. Bob served in the Army from July 19, 1945, until May 15, 1947, and from July 6,1950 until July 5, 1953. On November 27, 1954, Bob married Mary Ellen Orsburn in Boscobel, WI. Bob worked for Oscar Meyer for many years. He enjoyed playing cards, working on cars, and gardening.
Bob is survived by his five children: Debra (Brad) Butler of Woodruff, WI, Robert A (Mary) Hanson of Madison, Vicki (Kenny) Hefflefinger of Savannah, GA, Judy (Greg) Johnson of Columbus, Kevin (Deena) Hanson of Perry, IA; son-in-law: Kevin Olson of Perry, IA; 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, sister: Ruth James, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Krista Jean Olson, 3 brothers Kenneth, Bernard, Alton, and sisters Bernice Kalish, Opal Kellenburger, and Alvina Hanson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at the Pratt Memorial Chapel. Burial will be held at the Sylvan Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by the Local Military Memorial Honors Unit. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials in Bob s name may be made to Schmitt Woodland Hills. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements. Prattfuneralservice.com
