Robert H. Harney

Robert H. Harney, 91, of Spring House, PA, died on July 2, 2023 at Spring House Estates. He was the beloved husband of 70 years to Jeanette (McDonald) Harney. He was born in Ogdensburg, NY on March 20, 1932 to the late Lawrence and Mary A. (Collins) Harney. Robert served our country in the US Army from 1949-1952, as a Radio Operator in the Signal Corps. He received the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, United Nations Service Medal, Presidential Citation Unit, Comat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. He later became a computer support technician for Unisys in Blue Bell, PA, until his retirement. Robert enjoyed fishing and was an avid bridge player.
In addition to his wife Jeanette, he is survived by 5 children Carolyn Harney of Ambler, PA, Robert Harney, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, Patricia Harney of Grand Haven, MI, Anne Harney and Mary Harney both of Philadelphia, PA, 5 grandchildren Shaun, Ryan, and Dane Harney, Ashley Benson, James Gallagher, 7 great-grandchildren Landon, Grace, Finnigan, Elijah, Muya, Evelyn and Beckham. He was pre-deceased by a son John Harney, a sister Kay Carr, and a brother Clarence Harney.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Viewing from 1-2 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA. Interment will be on Friday, July 7 at 1:00 pm at Oxbow Cemetery in Oxbow, NY.
