Robert "BJ" Harris, 86, passed away on January 22, 2026 at Thomas H. Corey VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was born on January 20, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri.
BJ joined the Navy in 1957 and served in the submarine service until 1963. He subsequently obtained his plumbing license and became a union plumber. He worked as a head engineer for JFK Medical Center in Lake Worth for many years.
He then moved to Lakeport, Florida where he worked for the Seminole Tribe of Florida before retiring.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and a beloved member of the Lakeport Community. When he wasn't hunting or fishing, BJ spent his time giving back.
He was a proud member of AMVETS and the American Legion, a charitable member of the Lakeport Garden Club and, most fondly, he took great pleasure in playing Santa Claus for the community children for over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gertrude Guyot Harris; his brother, Eugene "Spike" Nelson Harris; and his sister, Darlene Villanacci.
He is survived by his loving partner of 20 years, Kathy Livermore; his daughter Tammy Farr (Jeff); his son, Michael Harris (Sandy); grandchildren, Amanda Farr Balser, Kristian Farr, Eric Bergemann, and Megan Harris; and great-grandchildren, Helanna Balser, Colton Balser, Wyatt Farr, and Waylon Farr.
No services will be held at this time.
