Robert Morton Hatchett, 85, of Senoia, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in Senoia, surrounded by his close family and loved ones. Born January 4, 1940, in Ellijay, to the late Pearl Ray Hatchett and the late Jesse Lon Hatchett. Robert's life was marked by dedication, hard work, and a steadfast commitment to his faith and family.
From a young age, Robert demonstrated an unwavering work ethic and a knack for business. In 1974, he embarked on a venture that would become a cornerstone of his career and a staple in the community, purchasing and operating Hatchett's Gulf service station. His hands-on approach and can-do attitude were evident as he skillfully juggled roles as a welder, sandblaster, and wrecker driver, never shying away from the challenges of entrepreneurship.
Robert's dedication to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who took tremendous pride in providing for his loved ones. His legacy is carried on by his daughter, Rita Adcock (Larry); son, Robert Dale Hatchett; grandchildren, Charles Rick Turner (Ashley), Ashley Nicole Turner, Jesse Lon Hatchett (Samantha), and Cristina Mortez (Nick); as well as his cherished great-grandchildren, River Turner, Emory Turner, Juliet Hatchett, Elizabeth Mortez and Dean Westberry.
Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church of Senoia, for many years. He had a passion for the thrill of the hunt at flea markets, auctions, and estate sales. These pursuits brought him joy and satisfaction, as he was always on the lookout for the next great find or hidden treasure.
Robert Morton Hatchett's life was one of purpose and impact, marked by the love he shared and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His spirit and values will continue to live on through the memories cherished by those left to honor his remarkable journey through life.
