Robert A. Hejnicki

Robert Arthur Hejnicki, a 54 year resident of Woodridge, IL passed away on December 18, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bob was born on May 22, 1945 in Chicago, IL to the late Raymond and the late Mary Hejnicki.

Bob will be remembered as a loving husband of 58 years to Kathleen Hejnicki (nee Koch), and a devoted father to Jennifer Hejnicki of Woodridge, IL, Dena (Joe) Steimla of Naperville, IL and Debra (Greg) Spears of Montgomery, IL.

Bob was the devoted and very proud grandpa of Joseph Steimla, Johnathan Buberle and Kayleen Spears who all cherish the expression "Grandpa & grandkids…best friends for life."

Bob was a loving brother to Carol (the late Mike) Travaglio and Pat (the late John) Schaefer and a loving brother-in-law to Carol Groh and Phyllis (the late Robert) Wagner. He was a fond uncle to Kim Travaglio, the late Karen (the late David) Mullenhoff, Dean (Shirley and the late Mary Ann) Travaglio, Mark (Cherese) Schaefer, Sandi Schaefer, Mike Wagner and Tom (Robin) Wagner. He was the fond great-uncle to Dana Travaglio, Amanda Travaglio, Danielle Mullenhoff, Anthony Mullenhoff, Paige Schaefer, Maddie Wagner and Max Wagner.

Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves from 1965 to 1971. He spent the majority of his working career as a Sales Representative for Zep Manufacturing and recently received a Zep Certificate of Recognition for 50 years of Valued Service.

Bob will be remembered for his love of family, lifelong friendships, and many interests including his love of horses, our three special dogs, and multiple boats, motorcycles and sports cars. His garage, that was custom built for him by his son-in-laws, was his "happy place" where he worked on many beautiful woodworking projects and creative hobbies.

A Celebration of Life, open to all, will be held on February 20, 2026 at the River Bend Golf Club, 5900 S. Rt. 53, Lisle, Il 60532 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. with the Memorial Service at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Bob's name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704,Hagerstown, Md 21741 (cancer.org).
