Robert Held Obituary
Doug took great pride in his work and worked for Edward's Electrical and Mechanical, S&S Heating and Air, and Real Mechanical as a HVAC Service Technician for many years. He was a devoted member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the St. Michael's Men's Club. Doug was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering on some of his favorite teams, which included, I.U., Notre Dame, the Indianapolis Colts and the Pacers. In his free time, he also loved playing euchre, which was one of his favorite games.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Lynn Held; children, James (Beverly) Held of Greenfield, Indiana, Donna (Chris) Wilson of Greenfield, Indiana, and Andrew Held of Greenfield, Indiana; siblings, Christie Williams of Greenfield, Indiana, Tony (Carol) Held of California, Cheryl (Chris) Wood of Indianapolis, Indiana, Marcia (Edgar) Moore of Greenfield, Indiana, and Donna (Stephen) Butler of Greenfield, Indiana; five grandchildren, Daniel, Mary, Cecilia, Kevin-Michael, and Linus; and three great-grandchildren, Bentley, Bailey, and Dominick. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Allen Held and Margaret Rose Long; and stepfather, Donald Long.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held following the visitation at 12:00 p.m. at the church. Father Aaron Jenkins will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the American Lung Association at PO Box 756 Osceola WI 54020-0756, by website at https://lung.org/, or envelopes will be available at the church. Friends may share a memory or condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com.
Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield.
