Sincere condolences to Mr. Henderson's family. He had a way of showing us in high school how to make sense of the world and he did it with a smile. I always remember him standing int he hallway in between classes singing a line from The Who song Baba-O'Riley..."teenage wasteland..". Classic. Great guy, wonderful educator.

The world lost a good one. An absolutely gem of a man and easy to say one of the best teachers I had while in Avon. I originally studied History with the hope of being just like him! He made learning enjoyable, he laughed, everyone had a nickname and that booming voice could be heard through the halls. Students trusted him and felt safe to share things and he always gave great advice. To the Henderson family my thoughts are with you as you mourn this huge loss.

Mr. Henderson was an amazing teacher at Avon high school, his humor always made the students smile, My boyfriend bought his childhood home in Avon a few years ago and we love to see his name and his sister's name written on the stairs in the basement, I'm sure they had many wonderful memories here. He left a great legacy to the thousands of students he taught, sending prayers to his family at this difficult time

Dear Family of Bob Henderson...I am so very sorry for your loss. "Mr. Henderson" as we knew him, was a favorite teacher to me, my husband, and so many others in Avon. He was everything one would want in a teacher- kind, funny, passionate about his subject - so his class was always interesting, and best of all he was respectful of all of his students and commanded respect in return. He could be tough- but he was also such a softie as well. We are so happy to know he had a beautiful life with his wife, children, and best of all -grandchildren! They must have adored him. As you work through your loss, please know that hundreds, possibly thousands of his former students will always remember him with gratitude and an appreciative smile.

Condolences Henderson family from one of the many of his students he definitely left an impact with. Definitely one of the funniest guys to be around and one of the best teachers anyone could ever have. Some of the best memories at Avon High School were with this man. -
