Robert Rae Hite (Bob), 81 years old, passed away on December 26, 2024 with his children by his side after a long illness. He was born on September 15, 1943 in Camden, NY and was the son of Joseph and Kathryn Hite.
Bob enjoyed going for rides with his best friend and companion Sam, his dog. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed the company of his Flo’s family.
Bob was educated in the Camden schools and went into the Navy serving from 1961-1965. He worked at Camden Wire in Camden as a strander and later moved to their Arkansas plant working as the supervisor of the shipping department. When he retired he took on a “part time” job as the highway town supervisor in the Town of Osceola. Bob was a volunteer firefighter for the Camden fire department for many years.
Bob leaves behind his three children, Lanna (Jon) Clark, Wade (Tami) Hite and Ronda (Kenny) Weidlich. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Alisha (Kyle) McCanney, Sarah (Chris) Rieker, Dustyn Hite and girlfriend Sherie Quenneville, James (Rachelle) Hite, Steven Hite and girlfriend Morgan Zike, Samantha Weidlich, Jakob Weidlich and four great grandchildren; Olivia Rieker, Adalynn HIte, Lucas Hite and Ethan Hite. He is also survived by two bonus grandchildren Jackie and Ryker Quenneville. Bob also leaves behind a sister, Debbie Drasher, several nieces, nephews, cousins and all the special people in his life he met over the years. He was predeceased by his parents and two uncles, Robert Woodard and Rae Woodard.
We want to say a special thank you to Hospice, Debbie, Ann and Cari for their amazing help during this time and the compassion they showed to us and our father. Also to Tami Hite, Brenda Onderko and Sherie Quenneville for all of their help during this hard time. Thank you to his Flo’s family for listening to his views on life and politics and giving him the diversity of conversation he always enjoyed. You all were his second family.
There will be no calling hours or services per his request.
"God gave us the free will - it is up to us to choose which way to go at the fork in the road."
