Robert C. "Gus" Hoffert

Robert C. "Gus" Hoffert, 79, of Salisbury Township, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026 in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of the late Cheryl L. (Miller) Hoffert, who died in 2018.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the Elwood P. Hoffert, Sr. and Florence (Morris) Hoffert. Gus was a graduate of Dieruff High School and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as an auto body painter for many years at various local dealers, including Boody Chevrolet and Knopf Pontiac. In his retirement, Gus's love of baseball led him to work as an usher at the Iron Pigs Stadium. He also enjoyed making model cars and solving crosswords. Most of all, Gus found joy in playing catch with his great-grandchildren.

Survivors: Daughter, Kimberly S. Hoffert of Salisbury Township; sisters, Louella Hoffert of Allentown and Gloria DeLong of Allentown; granddaughter, Alyssa Missmer-Thompson and her husband Casey Thompson of Schuylkill County; great-grandchildren, Kinsley Thompson and Rhys Thompson; sisters-in-law, Pamela L. Wert of Allentown and Karen A. Lore of Macungie. Gus was also preceded in death by a brother Elwood P. Hoffert, Jr. and a great-grandson Creed Thompson.

Services: A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Allentown.
