Robert Wayne Holsclaw, age 55, of Gloucester Point, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. He was born on January 2, 1970, in Newport News, to Richard Wayne and Helen Shaw Holsclaw. Robert graduated from Gloucester High School and served in the US Army for six years, during which he studied to work on construction equipment. He received several medals, badges, and service ribbons during his military career. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, Robert then went on to have a career as a diesel mechanic, which was truly his passion. Robert loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always there to lend a helping hand. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Richard Holsclaw; his brother, Johnny Ray Holsclaw; and his niece, Shelby Hogge. He is survived by his wife, Denise Holsclaw, his step-children Sean, Brandon, and Brittany (Shannon). He is also survived by his mother, Helen Holsclaw, sisters, Sherrie Hogge (Jamey) and Crystal Holsclaw (Brandon), his nephew Levi Holsclaw (Casey), niece Rose DeFiore, and grandchildren Liam, Jason, and Karson; along with his great-nieces Lynn and Parker, great-nephew Cooper and numerous cousins, friends, and extended family. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Severn Church Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Bill West, with military honors.
