Robert Don Hoots

Robert Don Hoots, 72, of Flat Rock, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 21st, 2024 from Hendersonville Health & Rehabilitation following a period of declining health.
He was a lifelong resident of Henderson County, the son of the late Arthur William Hoots and Elizabeth Maxine Carroll Hoots. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, John Kuykendall, brother-in-law, Steve Holbert, and sister-in-law, Cathy Kuykendall. He was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.
He worked at Terminix as a successful pest control salesman for many years. Some of his favorite pastime pleasures included coon hunting, gospel music, eating seafood, and watching old Western shows.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marie Hoots of Flat Rock; two daughters, Jennifer Robbins and husband Josh of Travelers Rest, SC, Amy McCall and husband Bud of Flat Rock; grandchildren Brock and Kyndall Mcall, and Josiah and Jacob Robbins. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Pauline Kuykendall of Flat Rock; brother-in-law David Kuykendall and wife Connie, brother-in-law Ralph Kuykendall and wife Barbara; sister-in-law Lulamae Haviland and husband Larry, brother-in-law Don Kuykendall and wife Tammy, and sister-in-law Grace King and husband Chuck as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Slawek for the many years of special care as well as Dr Phillip Larty and the wonderful staff at Pardee Hospital. Also, the excellent care by Dr. Denise Hunt as well as the staff at Hendersonville Health & Rehabilitation that have cared for him the past few years.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, July 3rd at Maranatha Baptist Church. The reverend Steve Gibbs and Phillip Kuykendall will officiate the service. A burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service at Maranatha Baptist Church.
