Robert A. "Bob" Horn, 83, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio, following a period of declining health.
Born on January 9, 1942, in Dover, Ohio, Bob was the son of Robert D. and Evelyn M. (Hawk) Horn. A proud graduate of New Philadelphia High School, Class of 1960, Bob continued his education at Salem Tech in Salem, where he laid the foundation for his long and fulfilling career.
For 22 years, Bob worked as a shipping products salesman for Indenco, where he built lasting relationships with both colleagues and clients. His professionalism, dedication, and kind nature made him a beloved figure at the company, and he was well-respected by all who worked with him.
Throughout his life, Bob’s passions were evident in the way he spent his time. An avid farmer, woodworker, and furniture builder, Bob had a creative soul and an incredible work ethic. In his later years, he became the job supervisor for every project his son would take on, offering advice and lending a hand whenever needed.
In addition to his career and hobbies, Bob was a dedicated family man. He met the love of his life, Judith L. (Wortman) Horn, when they were both young students at Welty Junior High School. Together, they enjoyed 61 years of love, partnership, and adventure. Their travels took them to places like Pigeon Forge, where they enjoyed seeing the bears and the mountains, as well as to Israel with lifelong friends. They also shared a love for southern gospel concerts, creating memories together that will forever be cherished.
A friendly and beloved figure in the community, Bob was a longtime resident of Crooked Run Road, where he earned the honorary title of "Official Member of the Crooked Run Road City Council." He was also a devoted member of Roxford Church in Dennison, where he served as an usher and was known for his unwavering faith in the Lord.
Bob’s legacy is one of love, service, and faith. He was a cornerstone of his family and will be remembered for his guidance, generosity, and steady presence. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judith; his children, Pauline (Walt) Wagner of Navarre and Joe (Teresa) Horn of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren: Josh (Tonie) Horn of Strasburg, Tricia (Steven) Sexton of Pendleton, Indiana, and Katie (Jaret) Knox of Navarre; and his great-grandchildren: Ryann, Harper, and Remington Horn, and Olivia, Amelia, and Aria Sexton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert D. and Evelyn M. Horn, and his brother, Jerry Horn.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. Additional calling hours will take place Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Roxford Church, Dennison, prior to the funeral service at 1:30 PM. The service will be officiated by Brother Jim Manbeck and Pastor Ron Heasley. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Roxford Church, 771 Roxford Church Road SE, Dennison, Ohio 44621.
