Robert "Abe"
Robert "Abe" Hughes, age 71, of Crafton, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025. He is survived by his devoted wife, Gerri, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years, including 49 years of marriage. Beloved son of the late Thomas and Phyllis Hughes, Abe was an amazing father to Robert (Gina) Hughes and Jill (Todd) Price, and a treasured "Pappy" to Addison Rose and Cole Robert Hughes, and Brayden Abe, Brinley Christine, and Brianna Lee Price. He was the cherished brother of John (Angela) Hughes, Cliff (Joan) Hughes, and Kim (Bob) McKnight. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A proud member of the Boilermakers Local 154, Abe dedicated 36 years to his craft before enjoying 16 years of well-earned retirement. He spent his time enthusiastically supporting his grandchildren at their many sporting events and relaxing with friends at the Pulaski Club, Mugshots, or enjoying a cold beer on "Duncan Beach" after a round of golf. One of his proudest moments came in June 2023, when he scored a hole-in-one on the 3rd hole at Del Mar Golf Course. Abe will be remembered for his love of family, his loyal friendships, and the joyful spirit he shared with all who knew him. Friends will be received at the Hershberger-Stover Inc. Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 170 Noble Avenue, Crafton, on Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM where a Blessing Service will be Thursday at 10 AM. A private family burial in Resurrection Cemetery will follow the Blessing Service. A Boilermaker ritual service will be held on Wednesday at 7 PM at the funeral home.

Not just a friend, he was a great friend. So many memories all great. I loved Abe with all my heart. So sad my heart is broken. I am sure now the lord has his doorman. To the best. Thanks. Johnny Obel

To the Hughes family, Gerri so sad for you and your family's loss and quite frankly Crafton . It's has been a long time but the memories are still fresh. I can't remember a more entertained time in my life filled with laughter.
God bless you all and thanks for the memories.
