Robert "Rob" Julian Hunker, 57, a resident of Cornelius, passed away on June 22, 2022 as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Rob was born on October 20, 1964, in Portland, OR. He was the second of three children born to Donald and Jeanne (Delplanche) Hunker. He was raised near Verboort and attended Visitation Catholic School and Banks High School, graduating with the class of 1983.
He enlisted into the US Army and served his country for four years, having been honorably discharged as a E4 (P).
Rob had worked in manufacturing most of his life. He had jobs with Dynic USA, Leupold and Stevens and most recently Eagle Precision, where he was so respected that his workstation will be forever known as "The Hunker Station". He had worked as a Security Officer for Intel, Bonneville Power Administration and as a Sheriff at the Washington County Jail. He was a Military Trained Firearms Instructor using his knowledge to educate others in Firearms Responsibilities.
He was a self-taught locksmith & gunsmith. He loved to shoot, hunt, camp & play video games on computers he had built. He played Dungeons & Dragons every week and loved spicy foods. He loved his motorcycle and taking it out when the weather was nice. He had an amazing sense of humor and wore costumes on many occasions. He was great at music trivia, enjoying the pub's trivia nights with his sister, friends, nieces and nephew.
Rob is preceded in death by his parents Don and Jeanne Hunker, his stepmother Darlene (Delker Adams) Hunker, and a sister-in-law Theresa Hunker.
He is survived by two siblings: Stephan Hunker of Cornelius and Sheryl Hunker of Forest Grove; two step siblings: David Adams of West Chazy, NY, Dianna Henson of Beaverton; and eight nieces and nephews
