Husted, Robert T.
REXFORD - Robert T. "Bob" Husted, age 85, of Rexford passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 23, 2023. Born on August 13, 1937, he was the son of the late Tileston and Henrietta Husted, and was predeceased by his brother Frank Richard Husted.
Bob graduated from Springfield College with a B.S. in Physical Education and took graduate courses at SUNY Oneonta, the University of Colorado, Union College, and UAlbany.
He spent his career as a science teacher in the Mohonasen School District, where he also coached track and was an assistant football coach. He was a longtime member of Christ Community Reformed Church in Clifton Park.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Husted; three turtles, and many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 20 at 11 a.m. at Christ Community Reformed Church, 1010 Route 146, Clifton Park.

Dear Barbara,

Marc and I want to express our sorrow for the loss of your husband. The two of you were wonderful neighbors of my family for 32 years and my favorite memories of Bob were our occasional conversations, seeing him work in the yard, lighting the evergreen trees for Christmas which glowed in our windows and seeing him jog around the neighborhood. To date, I've NEVER seen anyone run down Reed Lane going home as fast as Bob did! Even though I never knew he skied, I shouldn't be surprised as to how good he was at it. Bob was the epitome of fitness and good health which did him very well in later life and I'm sure his many students and friends can vouch for that. Most of all he was a soft spoken man who loved to talk and always had a smile for everyone. Please take care.

Bob and I have been good friends for about 20 years. We were members of the YMCA runners group in Clifton Park,N,Y, He was a great person to be a friend of and I will miss him greatly.

I have such fond memories of Mr. Husted and our science class. He was a great teacher! I still see plants and flowers, particularly a Queen Anne´s Lace, and think of him. He would bring our class outside on the school grounds and it was fun, educational and memorable.

I had Mr Husted for my science teacher, I think in 9th grade. He was so interesting. I still remember how he took us out in nice weather to identify plants on the school property. I wish o had a copy of that paper where you narrow down the plant characteristics to come to the actual plant. I have loved gardening and plants partly because of him, but mostly because of my father. He made a difference.

Bob was a wonderful person! I loved running with him & have so many fond memories of him at the SSYMCA with the Pacers run group! He always went the extra mile both on the road when running & with his many friends!

Mr.Husted was one of my favorite teachers even though science wasn´t my forte. He made an interesting for me in middle school. When I used to come home, I leave from California he will be one of the people that I visited house had an open ear, mind like a steel trap, and a good word for you. Good solid man still remember his smile I actually went out and ran with them a few times back when I was in shape lol. Rest in peace Mr. H.

My deepest condolences to his wife Barbara for your loss. Coach and I ran together while I was in 8th grade and ran cross country when I went to high school. He was a great mentor and teacher to all who knew him. He will be missed.
