Robert Jablonski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McNearney - Schmidt Funeral and Cremation on Jan. 21, 2026.
Robert J. Jablonski, "Bob", age 86, of Shakopee, MN, entered eternal life on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
Bob was born in Duluth, MN, on February 24, 1939, the son of Edward and Constance (Le Lonek) Jablonski.
Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years Barbara (Leyes) Jablonski and his son, Bruce (Marcy) Jablonski and his daughter, Brenda Jablonski along with his two grandchildren, Joshua and Kelly and his sister, Tootie (Bob) Bergen.
He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Connie Jablonski and his brother John Jablonski.
Bob was born and raised in Duluth, MN where he lived until 2010 when he moved to Shakopee, MN.
He attended St. Peter and Paul's Catholic School and St. Jean's Catholic School, he received his certificate of Achievement from the Area Vocational-Technical School (Salter Tech) in Auto Body Repair in 1958.
Bob loved cars and working and customizing them in his youth, in his later years he loved going to any car show he could find. He was involved with the local Wissota Stock Racing starting in the early 60's and continuing until 1977, after that he started attending Nascar races at Daytona and Charlotte. Bob loved his family and our dogs and loved to go camping (although most trips still involved racing), he loved his motor homes which he called his "Polish Pup Tent". He was a social butterfly, no matter where we traveled in the country, he would find someone he knew. Bob was a avid bowler, he bowled on leagues though the 1970's, all the way through 2015. In 2002 he lost his sight, but he was able to continue bowling, and acquired quite a following as a blind bowler.
Bob worked at Elliott's Meat Packing Plant in Duluth for most of his life, when Elliott's closed, he transitioned to Northern Drug until they closed and then finally worked at Target in Duluth until he retired. He was always working on cars on the side, he built the team stock cars while they were racing and then continued doing auto body for friends and family.
All services will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at McNearney-Schmidt Funeral and Cremation, 1220 3rd Ave. East, Shakopee, MN: Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM, followed by a Prayer Service at 11:00 AM.
