Robert (Bob) Jette passed away on May 24th 2024 at Umass Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. Fortunately, he had the opportunity to visit and speak to all of his children, and others that were special in his life, before he passed. He is predeceased by his sister Ann St. Denis, grandchildren Mickael Jette and Ryan Franciose and son-in-law Bill MacWilliams.
He is survived by his loving wife Lisa of 26 years as well as his brother Roger and his wife Jesse of Benton, Arkansas, brother Raymond of Worcester as well as stepchild Audrey and her husband Tyran and their children Trent, Tilliam, Adalyn and Ava. Bob's children and their spouses Beth Kelly, and husband Joe, Lynne Franciose, Robert Jette, Susan MacWilliams, Brian Jette and wife Tracy, Eric Jette and wife Emmanuelle, Karen Godfrey and husband Mark. He will be missed by grandchildren Samantha, Graham and Sam, Hannah and Colin, Ben and Emily, Tyler and Harry, Remy and Stephan, Tanner, Evan and Henry as well as great grandchildren Angelina, Joseph, Donavyn and Charlie.
A member of Worcester County Church of Christ for many years, Bob was often seen playing drums at church services with his signature wide brimmed hat. Bob was a devoted believer and in his final days, said he "was looking forward to seeing Jesus."
An avid Boston sports fan, Bob was especially devoted to following the Red Sox and often shared the story of being at Ted Williams final game at Fenway Park. Bob had a lifelong curiosity of many subjects including religion, history, science and sports. Blessed with an incredible memory, even until his final days, and a knack for storytelling, Bob would often begin a sentence with, "I may have told you this story but " and we were all too willing to hear the story again. One of our favorite stories was dad's recollection of, as of a boy, the Barnum and Bailey circus coming to town and watching the elephants marching down May Street from his families triple decker porch. His mom Rita would make fresh blueberry muffins and wake the kids in the early morning hours to watch the procession.
After being a salesman for Nestle and then a "bartender-to-the-stars" at the Mansion at Turtle Creek in
Dallas, TX, Bob embarked on his most passionate career choice; becoming a nurse at age 53. Bob's passion for caring for others and later instructing nurses and CNA's, Bob truly felt that nursing was his life's calling.
Bob's family will be holding a private Celebration of Life at the White Eagle Club (coincidentally where his parent's first met!) on June 7th. Bob's request was that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Boston Children's Hospital https://secure.childrenshospital.org/) and/or to the Mickael Jette Memorial Scholarship Fund for Shrewsbury High School students (https://www.mickaeljettememorial.com)
