Robert Wayne Johnson

Robert "Wayne" Johnson, 92, of Macon, MO, formerly of Atlanta, MO, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, MO.

Wayne was born on February 26, 1933 in Ethel, MO, the son of Orb and Norma (White) Johnson. He was united in marriage to Glendola Fern Magruder on December 31, 1958 in Atlanta. Wayne enjoyed spending time outside, hunting whitetails and shooting birds over his favorite bird dog, Dutchess, tinkering on his Ford Tractor, camping with his friends and family, and especially watching his grandchildren's sporting events.

Wayne is survived by one son, Alan Johnson and his wife Brenda of Macon, MO; two grandchildren, Kierstin Wolfe and her husband Levi of Linn, MO, and Kody Johnson and his wife Laken of Liberty, MO; four great grandchildren, Sloan, Kaelyn, Adalee, Ryker; one nephew, Robert Lee (Chris) Johnson; sister-in-law, Cecille (Leland) Maize; and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Glendola on July 10, 2013; one son, Edward Glen Johnson; great-granddaughter, Aubree Jean Wolfe; nephew, James Edward Johnson; sister, Annabel Johnson; and brother, Floyd Johnson and his wife Sarah Jane.

Funeral service will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, MO, with Pastor Greg Maize officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery east of Atlanta, MO. Visitation will from 1:00 pm, Sunday, until the time of the service, at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, MO.
