Robert Doyle, Jr., 59, of Lame Deer, MT died Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the Saint Vincent Hospital in Billings. He was a member of the Big Lodge Clan. Robert was nicknamed "Bomber" by his father and was born to Robert Doyle, Sr. and Mercedes Little Head on December 26, 1964, in San Francisco, CA. He grew up in Crow Agency, Hardin, and Lame Deer and attended schools in Crow Agency, Hardin, and he later enrolled in the Busby Boarding School.
Following his education he met and married Pauline, the mother of his children and they made their home in Hardin and later moved to Billings. He worked at numerous jobs and enrolled in trucking school and obtained his CDL and drove a semi-truck for the Yellowstone Kelly's Catering Company and drove throughout Idaho, Utah, Montana, and Oregon. Bomber was an active outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.
Shortly after his divorce he moved to Lame Deer to be near his mother Mercedes.
Preceded in death are Bomber's father Robert Doyle, Sr., his brothers, Patrick Doyle and Lance Dreamer, his nieces, Chastity and Ashley Doyle, his paternal grandparents Florence Yarlott Doyle, John T. Doyle, his uncles, Pat, Charles, Thurlow Doyle, Merrin Haven, his maternal grandmother Bertha Freeman, his maternal aunts, Evalee Foote, Priscilla Freeman, his maternal uncle Bernard Little Head, and Daryl Scalpcane.
Survivors include his mother Mercedes (Charles Amyotte) Tall Whiteman, his sisters, Sherri (Meko) Doyle, Dawn (Glen) Plenty Hawk, Jonnie (Al) Big Hair, Desi Whiteman, Tara Whiteman, and Valerie, Faith, and Kim Doyle, and his brothers, Little Arlen (Moana), Gary (Mary) Whiteman, Charlie "Cotton" Whiteman and Shane (Megkain) Doyle. He is also survived by his sons, Vaughn, Julian (Misty), Christian (Shyanna) Doyle and his daughters, Skye (Hayden), Colby (Caleb) Doyle, grandchildren Gerius, Shae, Teegan, Stormy, Skylar, Genisis, Amara Doyle, Paisley and Uttekaat Yellowtail, his nieces Cindy, Heather, and Summer Big Man, Candice and Caramie Iron, his nephews Daniel and Derrick Big Man, and Patrick Doyle, Jr., his paternal aunts Deanna, Michaelene, Louise, and Lillian Doyle, uncle Johnny (Agnes) Doyle, maternal aunts Christine, Linda Freeman, Diana McClean, Georgiann Kellum, Letha Whitewolf, Eloise Whitewolf, and Justine Whitewolf, and his best friends, Junior aka Teddy Big Man and Cubby Crooked Arm.
Extended family include Yarlott, Jefferson, Other Medicine, Little Head, Foote and White Wolf. Please accept our apology if we have forgotten anyone during this time of grief.
