Robert H. Justice, age 88, a warm, loving, and deeply caring husband, father, grandfather, educator, and servant of his church and community, passed away very peacefully on July 2, 2025, in the loving arms of his beloved wife, JoAnn, at their home in Chardon, Ohio.

Born on July 18, 1936, in Logan, West Virginia, to Rupert H. and Jennie (née Lineberger) Justice, Robert grew up with a deep love for learning and a heart for service. He graduated from Logan High School and joined the ROTC, continuing his education at West Virginia University and earning his master's degree at Case Western Reserve University.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Japan with the Signal Corps, where he rose to the rank of First Lieutenant.

On June 24, 1961, Robert married the love of his life, JoAnn McEntire, in Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania. Together, they built a beautiful life in Chardon, Ohio, recently celebrating 64 wonderful years of marriage.

An educator at heart, Robert began his career as a math teacher for the Mentor Exempted Public Schools. Other than teaching, Robert also served in many capacities, to include: Guidance Director and Principal. He found great joy in supporting teachers and students, inspiring them to do their best and helping them to achieve success in and out of the classroom. He ended his career for Solon City Schools, where he proudly served and as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum.

Faith was central to Robert's life. A devoted and active member of Chardon United Methodist Church, he served faithfully in every capacity imaginable, participating in countless committees and helping guide the church's mission with grace and humility. One of his greatest sources of pride was co-founding the church's Caring Team alongside the associate pastor, a ministry that reflected his compassionate spirit. Robert will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle wisdom, steadfast faith, and unwavering love for his family and community.

He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Justice; his daughter, Sharon (Albert) Kastor of Chardon, OH; his son, Robert (Kathleen) Justice of Concord Township, OH; and his cherished grandchildren, Sierra Justice, Abigail (David) Mohr, Kristopher Kastor, and Cassidy Justice. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, personal caregiver, Caleb Rhodes and countless friends.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024.

The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024.

My most sincere condolences. I had the great good fortune to begin my Solon teaching career while Bob was at the central office administration. He led curriculum alignment meetings at the beginnings of broader government mandates. In his wisdom and realism he guided us while supporting us amid our stress and concern. His was a welcome presence as "one of the team" working together for the best for everyone. He will surely be missed.

Bob Justice interviewed me in 1991 as he was leaving his post as principal at Roxbury. I heard so many great comments about him as a principal and felt sad to miss out on working with him daily. However, he stood in my doorway that September, as I conducted my first open-house. With a supportive smile as he walked way, the knowledge that Solon kept it's strong team of administrators in other capacities reassured me I was in the right district.
Mr. Justice was a graceful man who saw the value in every person he met. He gave you his time. It was a gift to know him.
Condolences to the family.

My wife, Karen and I, both had the privilege of working with Bob in the Solon school system. A true professional but more importantly such a gentleman in his dealings with every member of our staff. He was a integral part of making the Solon schools one of the best school systems in the state of Ohio.

Bob hired me in Solon schools as a teacher in 1985. He was a kind, supportive and gifted leader! He encouraged me to be the best teacher and curriculum leader I could be in my reading specialist role and as a teacher in the classroom. He was very missed in Solon. My heartfelt condolences to his family and church community. Marie Dugan
