Robert Keith “Bob” Kayser, 76, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at his home.
Bob was born on November 4, 1949, in Martinsville, Indiana, to the late Keith Darwin and Mercy A. (Gardner) Kayser. On April 15, 1972, he married Jolene (Dally) Kayser, who survives in Lima.
Bob served in the Army for 3 years. He was stationed in the states the first year, and then Vietnam, Cambodia and Germany. He was a Sargent in the 1st Cau. Most areas he served in had been sprayed with Agent Orange, causing the Parkinson’s that took him away from us. Bob also worked as a machinist in the maintenance department at the refinery for over 35 years and he was a member of Southside Christian Church. He enjoyed traveling, camping, tinkering, and riding his motorcycle. Bob was a Boy Scout leader of Troop 106 for over 10 years at Shawnee United Methodist Church. During those years, they attended Scout Camps, did multiple camping trips, and lots of traveling.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Nikki (Jason) Bowers and Rob (Jaci) Kayser; grandchildren: Emily, Carly, Avery, Miley, Nolan, Parker, Gavin, Jordyn, Dyllan, and Andrew; great-grandchildren: Declan, Sophia, and Charlotte; and sister, Margaret (Glenn) Norling.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Brady Bowers.
The family will receive friends from 3 – 8 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio and from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at South Side Christian Church. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at the church. Rev. Todd Cosart will officiate. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum.
