Robert Keith

Robert L Keith (affectionately known as Bob) was born August 13,
1948, in Eudora AR and transitioned into eternal rest on August 11,
2024, at Sutter Memorial Hospital, Sacramento, CA.
Bob accepted Christ at a young age and united with the Sunflower
Missionary Baptist Church, Eudora, AR.
His early education began in the Public Schools of Eudora, Arkansas.
He was a 1967 graduate of East High School, and he attended AM &
N College, Pine Bluff, Arkansas (Presently the University of Arkansas
at Pine Bluff). While attending college he met Laretta Jean Jakes, and
married his college sweetheart in 1971, to this union a baby boy was
born.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Murphy (Jack) Keith Jr and
Mildred Smith, wife Laretta. Siblings; Donnie Ray Burns, Dorothy
Jean Smith and Thomas (Bobby) Earl Smith.
Bob moved his family to California in 1971, where he provided for
his family with a career as a Service Technician. In 1980 they
moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. He united with Holy Cross
Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late
Reverend IV McKenzie where he was an active member of the
senior choir.
In 1994 he and Laretta moved to Sacramento where he united with
New Hope Baptist church under the leadership of Senior Pastor,
Gary Young. Bob was an active member of the Church Security
Team.
LEGACY
Bob was a loyal friend to many and had a passionate friendship with
his High School classmates. They had an unbreakable bond that
existed up to his passing.
Bob had many talents; he played the Snare Drums in high school
and he played basketball. In later years he became an avid tennis
player and earned the nickname "Fast Bob" because of his skills on
the court.
Those left to cherish precious memories and honor his legacy
includes his son Terry (Jennifer), Havre De Grace, MD; Sisters,
Georgia Toney Gilkey, Little Rock AR, Verna (Ray) Keith Carr,
Birmingham AL. Three grandchildren; James, Zora-Maya and
Isaiah. A Special aunt and uncle; Geneva Smith Addison, Palo Alto
CA; Solomon Smith, Vacaville CA. A Goddaughter; Laporsha
Stanton, Eudora AR. Special childhood friends Hazel (Charles)
Ingraham and Eric West, Eudora AR; Charles Heath, Sherwood AR;
Willie Jackson, Little Rock AR and a host of Nieces, Nephews, other
relatives and friends. A very special acknowledgement to his cousin
Russell Mondy, Elk Grove, CA.
