Robert "Bob" E. Killinger Jr, 76, of Columbus, passed away on March 13, 2025, after a battle with cancer and pulmonary fibrosis. He was born on April 27th, 1948, in Marion, Ohio, to the late Robert E. and Ruth (Little) Killinger.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Lynn (Ables) Killinger, and brother Jeffrey Lynn Killinger. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Patrick) Coffey of Russell's Point, Ohio; son, Jamie (Kelly) Killinger of Delaware, Ohio; brother Richard Killinger, of Delaware, brother-in-law, Thomas (Deborah) Ables of Brunswick, Ohio; nephew, Eric (Rachel) Ables; niece, Amy (Carl) Mentzer; grandchildren, Samuel Killinger, Elenore Killinger, Zoey Coffey, and Logan Coffey; many great nieces and nephews, extended family members and several dear friends.
Bob was a graduate of Bliss Business College in Columbus, Ohio. He served many years as a dispatcher and driver with COTA's Mainstream Services and worked for many years as a driver at the National Church Residences. During his years of work, he provided excellent service and care to his passengers. He retired from National Church Residences in 2018.
In addition to a vibrant working life, he enjoyed many hobbies, including slot cars, collecting watches, vintage stereo equipment, and being a car enthusiast. He loved his children and grandchildren, and time with his family was important. One of his favorite roles was chauffeur for his grandson Sam.
Friends may call Wednesday March19th, 2025, 1-3 and 5-7 PM, EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. Livingston Ave. There will not be any services.
Memorial contributions may be made to St.'s Jude Hospital or the Autism Society of Central Ohio.
The family would also like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the Mt. Carmel Hospice Team.
