Robert "Bobby" M. Kirchgessner, age 51 of Lexington, passed away on March 3, 2024, unexpectedly.
He was born on November 24, 1972 in Rochester, New York.
Bobby enjoyed soccer, golf, bowling, fishing, camping and swimming. Bobby loved his coffee and having an occasional Shandy. He was known for his smart remarks and his dry sense of humor. Growing up in New York and in England, he played soccer, for most of his teenage years. He was a goalkeeper and set many records. He loved going to the horse track in New York, with his family. Bobby was a family man, who enjoyed sitting on the porch watching his grandkids play and ruffling his mothers feathers, when it came to politics. Bobby served honorably in the United States Army. Bobby loved Adam Sandler movies, anything with Sylvester Stallone or Clint Eastwood. He enjoyed watching soccer games and loved dogs.
Even though his life was cut short, it was filled with love, happiness, children and family. He will never be forgotten and always in our hearts.
"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place, And I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to the your knees and keep you there permanently, if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it isn't about how hard you hit, its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done"
- Rocky Balboa.
Bobby is survived by his children; Hailey (Will) Kirchgessner and Andrew (Cassie) Kirchgessner, three grandbabies; Waylon, Wayde and Stormee, his mother, Margaret Kirchgessner, father and step-mother, Robert C. (Marie) Kirchgessner, mother of his children, Melissa Kirchgessner, along many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, both her the United State and in England.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Malcom and Margaret Harper and Robert W. and Mary Kirchgessner, and uncle, Jack Kirchgessner, and his aunts; Mary Foster, Shirley Kirchgessner and Christine Harper.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
