Robert "Bob" Thomas Klima, 86, passed away April 30, 2025, in Las Cruces, NM. He was born on March 15, 1939, in Zumbrota, Minnesota, to Lawrence and Edith (Winslow) Klima. Bob earned his GED while serving in the United States Marine Corps, and went on to take college classes in math and writing. Bob worked for the Minneapolis Water Works, in Minnesota, for 30 years.
Bob married the love of his life, Jerri Klima, at age 50, on June 17, 1989, and they were married for 38 years. Bob loved to walk the city lakes in Minneapolis with his wife, Jerri, and was an avid cyclist. He also loved reading, entertaining, and traveling. Bob was a friend to many people, including those he worked with over the years. He was always there when needed and never said no when called to service.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Jerri, sisters Kathleen Neumiller and Helen Harwood, stepson Bob Melina and his wife, Teresa Melina, grandson Jacob and granddaughter Jadyn, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Edith (Winslow) Klima, sister Patricia LAMere, brother Lawrence Anthony (Tony) Klima, and his good friend Michael Holter.
A memorial service will be held on May 14, 2025, from 1:30pm to 4:30pm, at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E. Bowman Ave. Las Cruces, NM 88001.
The family would like to thank Mesilla Valley Hospice for the compassionate care they provided during Bob's illness.
