October 8, 1935 – August 31, 2025
North Fort Myers, FL – Robert Loux Kline, Jr. (Bob), 89, passed away from natural causes on August 31, 2025.

Raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Bob was the son of Robert L. Kline Sr. and Ruth Kline (nee Gerhart). He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Carol Civitella, and his brother Ronald Kline.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Nancy Carolyn Kline (nee Bowman); his daughter Suzanne Kline (Paul Katz); son Andrew Kline (Heather Bradner); and his cherished granddaughter Lydia Kline. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who brought him great joy: David, Maready, Amy, Ronald, Steve, Jason, Tim, and Cindy, along with their spouses and children.

Bob was a standout track athlete during his high school years in Allentown and continued his athletic career at Duke University, where he earned a varsity letter all four years (1954 – 1957) and received a degree in electrical engineering. His professional career began in New York, where he worked as an engineer before returning to school to earn an MBA from Harvard University. After graduation, he took on management roles in the burgeoning high-tech computer field in the Boston area. Bob and his family moved to Florida in 1980, where he developed business software as a private consultant, and eventually retired after working for a variety of firms across Southwest Florida as a computer programmer.

Bob was a car enthusiast, owning a variety of collectable sports cars throughout his life. He also avidly followed many sports, most notably his beloved Duke Blue Devils basketball team. Family was paramount in Bob's life, and he enjoyed taking memorable road trips to visit his daughter in New York City and California and his son and granddaughter in Juneau, Alaska. His brother and sister settled in Port Charlotte, and he valued close-knit gatherings with his siblings and their families.

Bob will be remembered for his quick intellect, firm convictions, and sense of humor. He was a gifted problem-solver with a talented mathematical and mechanical mind, and above all, he was devoted to his family, who will carry his memory forward with love.
