Robert Emanuel Knight , 82 , of Gainesville , Texas passed away on January 4, 2026 at his home. He was born on March 7, 1943 in Mobile , Alabama to Otis and Essemena (McMillan) Knight Sr .
Robert graduated from Booker T. Washington in Wichita Falls, Texas. He worked at National Linen and retired at the age of 40 years old and then began his journey as an entrepreneur and owner of Sunshine Cleaners. Later, he sold his business and retired from Home Depot. Robert loved all sports but particularly enjoyed basketball and football as they were his favorite.
Robert is survived by his children; Candy Parker, Jacqueline Knight, Vickie Jackson, James Lewis and Courtney Wilson. Siblings; Otis Knight, Carl Knight, Collie Durow, Tommie Knight and other siblings and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Tony Knight, and brother Edward Knight.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Knight will be held at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville, Texas on Saturday, January 17, 2026 beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Minister Russell Nix officiating.
