Robert Charles Knott

KNOTT, Robert "Bob" Charles, age 68, of Trotwood, died Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Life Care Hospital of Miamisburg, following a lengthy illness. He was born November 18, 1944 at Ottumwa, Iowa, son of the late Orville Knott and Ernestine (Kinkade) Knott. Bob Graduated from Fairborn Baker High School in 1963. He participated in sports, Scouts, DeMolay and the Youth Group at Fairborn Methodist Church. Bob earned a B.A. degree in Economics and Business Administration from Ohio Northern University in 1968. He joined the Air Force and served at several bases in the States with his last assignment in the Philippines. Bob specialized as an electronics technician. He then earned a BSEE in 1974 and a M.S. degree in Engineering Management in 1985, both from the University of Dayton. Bob was employed at DESC. He continued his education with classes in ISQ Quality Control and ASQ Auditor Training which allowed him to conduct quality control audits for the government. Bob participated with the Filipino-American Group of Dayton. After retirement, he increased his golf activity four fold. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Norma (Cayabyab); brother, Bill and his wife Geneal of Dayton, brother David of Fairborn; sister-in-law Grace Green and husband Jon of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, sister-in-law Ruth Abad and husband Jun of Quezon City, Philippines, brother-in-law Jaime Cayabyab and wife Eleonor of Dayton, brother-in-law Jose Cayabyab of Quezon City, Philippines, uncle Franklin Kinkade and wife Vonnie of Creston, IA and many cousins. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 10:30am with Pastor Aron Chivington officiating, also at the funeral home. Interment in Byron Cemetery.
