It is with deep sadness to announce that Robert Duane Knutson, age 21, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the home he shared with his loving mom, Wendy. Robert, or called by most who knew him "Robbie", was a wonderful son, friend, colleague and nephew, cherished and so loved by everyone who knew him.
Born on October 2, 2004, in Tomah, Wisconsin to Wendy "Wendells" "Nurse" (Kuehl) and Rodney "Hot-Rod" Knutson, Robbie lived a very full life marked with his extreme kindness, huge heart and compassion for others. He had a deep commitment and care for his family and friends. Robbie grew up in Tomah and has been a proud member of his hometown for his short time on Earth, enjoying things during his free time as a kid such as spending fun days at the Tomah Aquatic Center with his friends. When Robbie got older, he enjoyed listening to music and having a blast with his friends in his truck and riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed laughing and kidding around with all around him. Robbie graduated from Tomah High School in 2023 with his CNA certification and got a job at the Tomah VA Medical Center, with hopes to pursue college for physical therapy or chiropractic care in the future.
Robbie is survived by his person-his beloved mother, Wendy Annie Knutson; his grandma, Wanda Lee Baker; his dad, Rodney Knutson,; his uncle, Kurt (Rhonda) Kuehl; cousins, Amber (Jesse) Todd, Brielle Gowin, Tyson Hoffman, Jordan (Mandy) Rudolph, Tanner (Ellie) Kuehl, and Kade Kuehl; as well as second cousins, great aunts and great uncles. He is further survived by his best friends, Issak and Josh Hoffman, Brogan Gowin, Kenny Maddix, Hunter Storkel and Ethan Leiser, and many other friends to include his beautiful VA work family in Small Homes, as well as the entire Tomah VA Medical Center who adored his bubbly personality and wonderful sense of humor. Robbie will forever be remembered by all who had the pleasure of having him in their lives.
Robbie was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Samuel and Barbara Brockman; maternal grandfather, Duane "Buddha" Kuehl; maternal step grandfather, Phil Baker, and paternal grandfather, Hulbert Knutson.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tomah. Pastor David Dahl will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah.
