Robert “Bob” Kobel.
Devoted husband of Patricia nee Daly.
Proud father of Amy (Bob Schultz), Matthew (Kathleen), Megan (Frank Tapia), and Michael Kobel.
Adoring grandfather of Aria, Henry and Benjamin Kobel and Avery Tapia.
Son of the late Joseph and Lorraine Kobel.
Brother of the late Gregory (Patricia), Richard (Charlene), Barbara (Robert Strehmann), Kathleen Ellis – Bob’s twin, Joseph (Debra), and Russel (Lisa) Kobel.
Son-in-law of the late Jack and the late Jeanne Daly.
Brother-in-law to Pamela (Peter Neary), late Denis, late Kevin (Mary Jo), late Paul (late Colleen), and Jack (late Patricia) Daly.
Beloved uncle to many Kobel and Daly nieces and nephews.
Graduate of St. Bede Grammar School and Bogan High School, he worked the night shift for most of his 25 years with the phone company – Illinois Bell/Ameritech/AT&T.
A phenomenal athlete for many years, Bob could be found batting clean-up in 16” softball or playing power forward in basketball leagues all over the southside of Chicago.
He loved what he loved: candy of all types, watching sports on TV, a clean house, a game of cards with his siblings, one-on-one time with his grandkids, and playing music off his phone. He leaves behind over 25 playlists on Spotify.
Bob will be remembered for his kindness and humor. His easy way made others around him feel comfortable and welcomed.
