Robert John Kuster

Rochester – Robert John Kuster (Bob) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on August 13, 2025 at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 3, 1942 to John Robert Kuster and Alice Beckett Kuster in Fulton, New York.
He attended Fulton High School and upon graduation, attended Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota. Following graduation, he began his teaching career n Rondout Valley Central Schools, teaching American history and economics.
In 1978 he moved to Santa Barbara, California to pursue a career in the semiconductor industry. He worked for Sloan Technology until 1982. He then relocated to Nashua, New Hampshire working for Ferrofluidics, a manufacturer of crystal pulling furnaces.
In 1999 he continued working in the industry for Kayex in Rochester, New York where he retired. During his years in high technology he enjoyed worldwide travel to many countries including Taiwan, China, Japan, Russia, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Norway, Finland and others.
Bob loved sports. He played football in college, loved to play golf and rarely missed a sport event on television. He was known to be quite colorful in his opinions on plays. He will be greeted by many friends at the gates including Jeff the "Clocker" who has the horse right there, his name is "Glad You're Here"; Jimmy B. who is starting up his newest grill; Fred and Diane who have the lounge chairs, beer and wine by the beach; Mike and Larry who are ready for football; and all nine of our dachshunds lined up and ready to retrieve balls as soon as Bob tees off. Bob is predeceased by his mother, Alice (Beckett); father, John Robert Kuster; brother, James Michael Kuster, (Mike). He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia (Converse) Kuster; his son, Scott Kuster (Diana); his daughter, Robin (Kuster) Baker-Stamberg (Eric). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two nieces.
