LEICESTER: Robert P. L’Ecuyer, 76, of Leicester and formerly of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at UMASS Hospital – Univ. Campus, surrounded by his family.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Norma A. (Swaney) L’Ecuyer; two children, Thomas E. L’Ecuyer and his fiancée, Bridget Chase, and Tammy L. L’Ecuyer and her fiancée, Timothy Hanna, both of Worcester; two sisters, Patricia Brooks, and Joan Andersen, and one brother, Mark L’Ecuyer; a sister in law, Mary Swaney; four grandchildren, Christopher and his wife, Eyleen, Jackson, Krystina and Katherine; one great grandson, Logan; many nieces, nephews and cousins; three special “girls”, Anh, Hong, and Kayla; and his canine companion, Mugsy. He was predeceased by his brothers, Roger & Stephen L’Ecuyer.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Clarence & Mary (Walsh) L’Ecuyer. He attended South High School. Bob was a Vietnam War Army Veteran, and recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal. He worked as a warehouse worker for local companies. He was a member of Vernon Hill America Legion Post 435, and Vietnam Veterans For The Community (V.V.F.T.C). He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, pool, darts, games, and was an avid New England sports fan. He was not just any man; he was an extraordinary man. He is a legend and a hero. Love, Honor, Duty, and Respect. He took these core values seriously. He took an oath to be a soldier. He took his vows to be a loving, devoted and dedicated husband and father. He loved with his whole heart, and loved to make people laugh.

Calling hours will be held from 10AM to 12PM, with a funeral service at 12PM on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Memorial contributions may be made to: Vietnam Veterans For The Community, Box 886, 1102 Pleasant St., Worcester, MA 01602.
