Robert D. Lacovara

Robert Daniel Lacovara, 42, of Jacksonville, passed away on December 6, 2025, at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
Robert was born April 26, 1983, in Camden, New Jersey, to Diana Lynn (Farah) Angelastro and the late Robert Earl Godshall. He was lovingly raised by his late stepfather, Edward Nicholas Lacovara.
Robert excelled in high school track and was honored as an all-region and all-state athlete throughout all four years. He had a passion for fishing and loved playing basketball with his children, often taking them to the park, enjoying long walks, and strolling the boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ. Robert took great pride in his work as a tree trimmer and was admired for his strong work ethic and dedication. Above all, he was a devoted father whose love and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Robert is survived by his mother, Diana (Lawrence) Angelastro; his son, Christian Lacovara; his daughters, Shea'lynn Lacovara, Payton Lacovara, and Emersyn Lacovara; his former wife of 24 years and mother of his children, Erika Lacovara; his brothers, Christopher Lacovara, Mathew Lacovara, Anthony Lacovara, Nicholas Lacovara and Vincent Lacovara (Allison); and his cherished grandchild, Christian Lacovara, Jr. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Brooklyn Lacovara.
There will be a visitation on January 24, 2026 Saturday from 11am to 12noon at Gardner Funeral Home, 126 S. Black Horse Pike, Runnemede NJ 08078.
Memorial service at funeral home to follow.
Interment private.
