Cremation Society of New Hampshire - BoscawenIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Edward LaFlamme, who died at home in Franklin, New Hampshire, on October 1, 2025, at the age of 74.
A lifelong resident of Franklin, NH, Robert was a proud graduate of Franklin High School, Class of 1970. He went on to serve his country with dedication and honor, spending 17.5 years as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Marine Corp Reserves, and the Army National Guard in New Hampshire.
Robert was a hardworking man who never truly retired. Over the years, he held many roles, including police officer with the Franklin Police Department, many years of service at Watts, stock clerk at Mr. G’s, and caring for animals at the local animal shelter, where he found so much joy loving the animals. His most recent position was as a stock manager at Hannaford in Franklin, where he continued to show his strong work ethic and friendly spirit.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Karen LaFlamme; his daughter, Carrie Carter, and her husband, Jonathan, of Franklin; his sons, Shawn LaFlamme and his wife, Stephanie, of Northfield; Corey LaFlamme and his significant other, Audra, of Franklin; Robbie LaFlamme and his wife, Samantha, of Franklin; and David LaFlamme of Laconia. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Heather Gasper and her husband, Tyler, of Claremont, and John Cleveland and his wife, Beth, of Newport.
Robert leaves behind his grandson Izaiah Levin, whom he and Karen lovingly raised, as well as 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immeasurable pride and joy. He is also survived by his sisters, Becky Laplante and her husband Larry of Franklin, April LaFlamme of Manchester, and Samantha LaFlamme of Bristol; and by his brothers, Richard LaFlamme and his wife Sue of Bristol, Kevin LaFlamme of West Virginia, and Leroy LaFlamme of Franklin. He is also remembered by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who remained important to him throughout his life.
He was predeceased by his parents, Rachel and John LaFlamme, of Franklin; his brothers Michael LaFlamme and William LaFlamme; his sister Patricia LaFlamme and his daughter-in-law Dani LaFlamme.
Robert had a deep love for the simple joys in life. He adored his cats, never turned down a good hotdog, enjoyed binge watching the show Mash and was a devoted NASCAR fan. He found peace in the outdoors, especially when fishing, which he loved, or when spending time camping with family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 12th, from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Mojalaki Country Club in Franklin, New Hampshire. All who knew and loved Robert are welcome to attend.
Military funeral honors will be conducted at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in the spring of 2026, with details to be announced at a later date.
