Robert "Rob" James Lamson, Sr., age 66 of Baraga, MI passed away at his home on Sunday, August 10, 2025. He was born in L'Anse, MI on April 14, 1959 the son of Howard and Marjorie (Raymond) Lamson. Robert attended school in Baraga. He had been employed by Tribal Industries in the Maintenance Department. Rob was a member of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. He enjoyed muscle cars, painting, woodworking and going to camp. Rob was always willing to go an extra mile for his children and grandchildren no matter what the situation was. Rob is survived by his loving sons; Robert "Bobby" Lamson, Jr of Baraga, Christopher (Tat) Lamson of Sagola, MI, and Brandon Lamson of Houghton, special friend Lori LaFernier of Baraga, grandchildren Alexis, Kayla, Vanessa Tyler, Anthony, Joseph, Savanna, and Rebecca, mother Marjorie Giddings of Baraga, brother Jeff (Lynn) Lamson of Baraga, and sister Ruth Lamson of Baraga. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his father Howard, step-father Gary "Poncho" Giddings, brothers Howard and Daniel, sister-Jo-Ann, grandmother Marie Kemppainen and nephew Jesse. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse with Father Ben Rivard officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of the funeral service. Immediately following the funeral service, interment will take place in the Pinery Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Zeba Hall at 1 p.m. The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
