Robert Elford (Bob) Landreth, 95, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully September 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born January 13, 1930, in Greenville, South Carolina. After high school he joined the military at just 18 years old and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1948 to 1952. While stationed at the Naval Base in Sanford, Florida, he met his beloved wife, Mildred "Millie" Williams. Following his honorable discharge, Bob and Millie were married on August 24, 1952, and shared 63 wonderful years building a lifetime of treasured memories together.
In 1953, Bob began his career with the Sherwin-Williams Paint Company in Sanford, Florida. He was promoted to manager in 1960 and transferred to St. Augustine, Florida to open a new store location. In 1966, he moved to manage the Sherwin-Williams location on Bay Street in Daytona Beach, Florida. Bob retired in 1985 after 30 years with the company, finishing his career at the S. Orange Avenue store in Orlando, Florida.
After his retirement he was ever one to slow down, Bob continued on the only way he knew how-with his strong work ethic putting in long hours working diligently managing Lake Ashby Mobile Home Park in New Smyrna Beach, Florida-an operation he and Millie had owned since the early 1960s. His work ethic remained unmatched, and his kindness left a lasting impact on the residents and community alike. He cherished his close-knit community, built lifelong friendships, and never hesitated to volunteer his time when he had the opportunity or there was a need. Above all, Bob found his greatest joy in spending quality time with his family and friends. Bob was known for his unwavering integrity, dedication, and the genuine kindness he extended to everyone-colleagues, customers, neighbors, and friends. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Downtown Sanford and a good and faithful servant to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Linda Landreth; son Rob and wife Kelly; granddaughter Lyncia and husband Jerry Symons; grandson Patrick and wife Crystal Sheppard; grandsons Chad Landreth and Brett Landreth; granddaughter Courtney and husband Jason Crown; great-grandsons Andrew, Dalton, and Chase Symons; Wyatt and Blake Sheppard; Devon Crown; and great-granddaughters Ashby Sheppard, Alexis Peyton Landreth, and Ava Crown.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Millie; his parents, Carl and Ellis Landreth; and his brother, Bill Landreth.
A family hosted Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.
