Robert "Bob" Loren Laymon, 70 years old, of Wichita, Kansas, was a geologist by trade, lover by heart. He loved good coffee. He loved complaining about politics. He loved HGTV. He loved finding beautiful DIY projects and watching someone, usually his wife Teri, complete them. He loved having fun. Travel, parties, get togethersbring them on. He had his wild side! Bob had lots of sides. He was compassionate. People always came to him because if he could help, he would, sometimes even when he shouldn't. He was passionate. If it was important to him, you knew it. When those hands started flapping, brace yourself. He exuded this passion and enthusiasm, and it was contagious. Not many people in life are able to get you excited about something you previously had zero interest in, he could! Who knows what that topic might be because he was so smart. A highly intelligent man. Which may or may not have played a role in why he was so stubbornNow take all those things, multiply them by 1000 and it doesn't come close to the love he had for his family and friends. And we love you back more than you know.

In the end, he loved so much, his heart gave out Sunday June 13th. He passed away at home, quickly, with his wife and son. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard, sister Betty, daughters Michelle and Christine, grandson Bo, and never forgotten by his surviving family: wife Teri, siblings Phyllis and Delbert, daughters Rebecca and Allora, sons Don and Aaron, grandchildren David, Sam, Brandy, Nick, Kim, Rob, Tia, Nicky, Lauren, Brock, Dillon and Ashton, 20 great-grandchildren (compliments of his first wife), nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. Until we meet again..we love you.

A Celebration of Life is being held at 1:00 p.m., this Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 12885 West Maple Street, Wichita, KS 67235.

A light lunch will be provided and an opportunity to reflect with family and friends. If you would like to speak during the short service, please contact Teri at 316-214-4123 to ensure you have 2-3 minutes available. If you don't want to speak, or can't make it and have something to say, we will have a table set up to share so please bring it with you. We'd love to hear how Bob impacted you!

What a beautiful tribute to an unforgettable man. I worked with "Safety Bob" for several years, and stayed in contact afterwards. I loved his stories and upbeat attitude! He had so much love for his family and never tired of singing their praises. He was so very proud of every one of them. Praying comfort for his entire family.
