It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Howard Lenz, who departed this life unexpectedly on December 25, 2025, at the age of 78.
Robert was born on December 22, 1947, in Erie, to the late Michael F. and Alta R. (Carr) Lenz.
Robert was a 1966 graduate of McDowell High School and completed several post secondary learning courses. Robert was employed at the GE Transportation Toolroom until his retirement and held several positions of increasing responsibility. He was known not only for his exceptional skills as a toolmaker and problem solver, but also for his independent, adventurous spirit. His passion for cars, and motorcycles, were only exceeded by his generosity to his friends and family.
In addition to his parents, and several aunts and uncles, he is preceded in death by his brother, Edward M. Lenz.
Robert is survived by his loving fiancé, Florence Yap; nephew, Michael F. (Eulala L.) Lenz; niece, Nancy M. Lenz-Damore; nephew, William C. Lenz; godson, Tony (Chocolate Lin) Gao and grandchildren, Winnie Gao and Vincent Gao.
