Robert E. Lewman, 74, of Cummings, KS, unexpectedly passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, at St. Luke's North Hospital, Kansas City, MO.
A private family burial of cremated remains and celebration of Robert's life will be at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery, Effingham, KS. Memorial contributions in honor of Robert may be made to the Robert E. Lewman Memorial, which will continue to support his grandchildren's future education fund. These contributions may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.
Robert was born May 18, 1950, in Atchison, KS, the son of Roy Leonard and Shirley Jean (Watts) Lewman. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1968. Robert worked sun up to sun down every day of his life after graduation, before finally retiring at 71 from WE-MAC Manufacturing as a welder for 31 years. He found great joy in his work, and truly cherished every moment spent with his beloved grandchildren. He also loved to take family trips and took such pride in helping his youngest son with his cattle, always lending a hand wherever he was needed.
Robert married the love of his life, Jamie Lynn Liggett on February 16, 1980, in Cummings, KS, she survives of the home. He is also survived by two sons, Ryan (Alexsha) Lewman, Cummings, KS, Aaron (Mallory) Lewman, Cummings, KS, a daughter, LaDonna (Adam) Griffin, Atchison, KS, two brothers, Raymond Lewman, Hutchinson, KS, David (Joyce) Lewman, Nortonville, KS, four sisters, Peggy Engeman, Troy, KS, Sharon (Henry) Peuker, Bendena, KS, Carol Lewman, Atchison, KS, Debbie (Mark) Baker, Aurora, CO, four grandchildren, Isla, Hudson and Mabel Griffin and Vivian Lewman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Hadley Lynn Griffin, a sister, Judy Young, and brother-in-laws, Leroy Engeman and Loren Liggett.
